Description
I decided to give in the description the part of discussion of this image on Flickr:
B.: They say " a picture paints a thousand words". Hmmm, I wonder what the story behind this image is?
I also wonder why you chose an empty swing? It is a lovely picture but raises so many questions. Is it symbolic for something that has happened in your life?
Or am I over-analysing?
Maybe I should just be quiet & enjoy the picture.
Me: B., could you ever imagine that no any stories behind that? Is it disappointing? I was just passing by the shore of Amsterdam canals and saw this peaceful scene, it looked storytelling enough to catch it and now every single viewer will be fantasizing its own story, isnt it exciting? Everyone will be able to find their own thoughts and memories...
G.: Good thing that a nice capture can trigger soul searching thoughts and feelings... for some it's a loss, looking back... for others the potential of the future, looking forward ... !!!

Love the composition and your processing choices. There is a real sadness to this nostalgic scene. My (DFM&N) for today. v

Hi Jenny; a picture DOES tell a thousand stories and paints a thousand memories indeed. This is a part of the obvious visual beauty of a scene... is to search for the inner hidden beauty of the scene; and that's where everyone has their little story to imagine or dream of . Perhaps lost memories; perhaps recollections of good times past; and perhaps just thoughts of some sad times . I consider photography to be another form of soul searching through the visual stimulus of the image. And everyone of us has their own direction of which way to go... past, present or future.... but that's what makes for a GREAT picture.... such as this one..... the substance behind the obvious. No you are not over-analysing... you are just being a GREAT artist!
