Amaryllis and Crocus blooms from forced bulbs in a cozy potting shed are huddled together in winter-scarce sunshine. They seem to be longing for the end of the long winter like children anxiously awaiting the final school bell announcing the start of summer vacation. This original watercolor still life painting by Hanne Lore Koehler depicts an early spring window scene in a potting shed, featuring frosty window panes, idle gardening tools anxious to get started and new plants ready for spring planting.
