I love this! It has a kind of 70's early 80's feel to it, the tone is amazing! Great shot! VF

Thanks Christy - very much appreciated! Ramona

Great monochromatic image, Ramona! I have spent some time in Tofino, but have never seen it in this light. The layers and the silhouette of the surfer are just beautiful - great capture! Voted.

Such a well-composed shot and to have the scene washed in natural sepia monochrome makes for a marvelous photograph. Well done!!! V

Hi Ramona! I love the soft colors in this one...and that it isn't a "photoshop" manipulation of some kind makes it even more beautiful! The composition is excellent with such depth. Knowing the story behind the image (with you and your son) makes it all the more special. IMO I think you ought to add that to the description...since some folks may not have the time to read through all the comments to see it! Anyway...very well done! v

Ramona Johnston replied:

Thank you so much for your kind words and wise advice, which I have taken (see revised description)! Thanks too for the vote! Ramona

Ramona this photo takes me to memories of my young surfing years, sitting on the beach after the afternoon swells are low and watching the sun set. Its well over half a century ago, and I even remember playing with the sand snails as the ocean receded. The colors lend the feeling of the time of day. voted

Ramona Johnston replied:

Oh, I'm so pleased to hear it brought fond back memories - thank you for sharing! Thank you also for your vote - much appreciated. Ramona

Was he waiting to surf or had his day ended and he was just reflecting? Great photograph..as you can see it makes me think. voted

Ramona Johnston replied:

I didn't see him go back in the water - I think it was the end of the day for him. I do have another amazing image of this unknown (to me) surfer taken earlier walking on the beach - see my other listings if you're interested! Thanks so much for your comment and vote! Ramona

The limited color usage is excellent!

Ramona Johnston replied:

Thanks so much Peri! These are the actual colors, which is what makes it so amazing because I didn't think it would turn out as well on "film" as it looked in real life.

Peaceful.... :)

Ramona Johnston replied:

Indeed - it doesn't get much more peaceful than this. Thanks! Ramona
