This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.

Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

Artist's Description
Endangered Culture
My grandmother painted my face blue
To dance under the moon,
And to give thanks to the sun
The giver of life.
Now Im scared of the sun,
Once the giver of life
Is the rider on the pale horse.
The writings are on the wall
The signs are ominous
A new endangered category has emerged,
Pacific cultures,
Thousands of years old,
Is at an inevitable mercy of extinction
Today I smeared my face with red clay,
Body covered with dust,
Dancing with mother earth
Mourning the echoes of
Yesterdays laughters,
The simple life of gardening,
Fishing, hunting and
Communal sharing.
The scorching sun
Quickly
Dries up my pool of tears
In my eyes;
And Melts
The paint from my face
Tomorrow,
Im a warrior
At the forefront of a solar battle
Pass me my golden bow and arrow
Ive got my sights on...

"Endangered ACulture" basically touches on the current hot issue on the global political scene regarding 'Climate Change' / Global Warming fiesco. As a freelance photographer i was involved with the Office of Climate Change in Papua New GUinea to shot a 'carbon Trade' consultation dialogue between Landowners of a massive rainforest area (55,000 hecters). In the Pacific areas we are already feeling the brunt of global warming. Small Islands are sinking under water, or part of their gardening ares are now under water, due to rising of sea levels. The recent story on Cataract Island in PNG is one classic example. Endangered Culture not only highlights the issue of traditioal customary trasitional evolution due to external cultural influences but also the danger of loosing ones traditional values through being climate change refugee. thanks for checking out...
