I have a huge Japanese ledger book that has a tattered, faded cover. I photographed the book cover, which forms the faded calligraphy in the middle of this piece. And then I added photos of my own brushwork, a monoprint I'd made, random marks, and more. I like the faded blue "enso" circle and how that same blue is echoed in the calligraphy. The warm glow, the cooler blues, the texture -- all combine well for an interesting abstract image. This would look good if it were printed onto metal. Even a throw pillow would look good!
