Description
In Terlingua one can see for miles- it is part of Big Bend country and used to be a mining town- now a ghost town as so many of those became. It is bordered by the Rio Grande river- Mexico just a stone's throw away. There are a couple of classy retreats where folks can come for peace and restoration. You can hear a coyote howl in the distance and another answering- saying you are not alone. You can feel the swishing of the wings of birds of prey as they cover the vastness, hear the grass crunch as you walk on it, and even hear your own breath. It is beautiful in its desolation, with the mountains of Big Bend National Park in the distance and surrounded by hills and plains. A place to partake in the wonders of nature and feel a part of the earth.
