The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

I started working on �The Bad Place� in early 2005. My concept was a series of interrelated artworks that would provide the bones of a story that the viewers could organize and tell for themselves. The subject matter was to be the eternal struggle of Good vs. Evil. I began by developing a broad iconography of traditional Christian images, some Spanish Colonial imagery, a dollop of Mexican retablo art, along with a liberal dusting of vodun, mojo, gris-gris, and some general creepiness for good measure. I chose as the embodiment of Evil a young boy, whom I referred to as �The Mage� � an ancient evil bent on destruction and mayhem. The icon of Good was a young girl, whom I eventually began to think of as �Vanessa� � well, I had to call her something. These two, antagonist and protagonist, along with their respective minions and familiars, are engaged in the classic struggle for domination and control. Each image was created using co...
