I am originally from New Orleans, but I have been living in Michigan for a number of years. I go to Café Du Monde whenever I go back to visit my family in New Orleans. I love this picture and I am looking forward to putting it in my coffee themed kitchen. It will remind me daily of the fun times I spent at Café Du Monde with my family. Thank you Diane Millsap!

Artist's Description

We had an 0ld F12 Farmal tractor when I was a kid, kind of like this one. We also had an old David Bradley horse drawn mowing machine we pulled behind it to cut the hay with. To crank start the tractor took all Dad had at times. Kicked like a mule. I rode the mower while Dad drove the tractor. Had to ride the mower to give weight to it because the mower was ground powered and had smooth cast iron wheels. That old tractor kicked Dad more than once, the mower kicked me once too. Ouch!!! Nothing Doc couldn't fix with a few stiches, quite a few that day. But no big deal, there were more days like that around every farm across America back then. Thanks for stoping by. Dan

About Dan Theisen

Hi, My name is Dan Theisen. I've been drawing for close to fifty years now. I'm a self taught artist. I would have prefered to persue a formal education in the arts, however earning a living and raising a family didn't allow for that, so through trial and error I have developed and continue to develope my art into what it is today. Whether that is good or bad is yet to be determined, I guess I'll leave that up to the individual, some may like it and some not. The important thing in any art is that he or she, ( the artist ), must enjoy it, if that is accomplished then I would say the artist is successful. Though most of my work is in pencil, I do venture into acrylics and photography form time to time. My growing up on a farm is more...
