BRIAN, I am enthralled with the way you use brushstrokes to make magestic art. Needless to say, I adore the colors.

Really nice, Brian.

How can you do so much with so little, Brian? After staring at the horizontal strips of color across the painting an the trees' leaves so that they become bonded together as one curtain with many openings to see the dark other shore. Stepping back, it seems that they all form a profile of a terrior, like some of the work of Jeff Koons (did I remember and spell that name anywhere near correct?) SO! It's then that I gradually realize, take off my glasses, squint and verify that many creatures are moving down on the ground, ground below, evidently the lake's bank that limits what we can see, too. Animals and kids and who knows whatall! They must be noisey and moving a lot, but the upper aspen (?) branches with the various orange leaves, and the lake, and the mountain even farther off and appearing a bit like Mt. St. Helens in Washington state, now so calm and sleepy, and the smooth cloudless sky an unusual , nearly monotonous milky orange twilight, I think, and with the blue mountain presents a stage-set background balanced by the darker orange foreground dirt. So what a great creation, that the greater, natural earth, trees, water, and a sleeping blue-shadowed mountain, all quietly "only stand and wait" through evening to night and then another morning. The people and the animals, both variously large and small, which viewers see only on a close look, appear almost irrelevant to the larger picture. An amazing creation, Brian. Thanks for providing a place and subject for my rambling.

Absolutely beautiful. Haven't chosen the perfect spot to display it yet, but it's a wonderful work of art I'm proud to display both for it's artistry and subject.

Bought for a fellow Navy veteran. He was beyond pleased, and so am I. Being able to choose such a unique mounting made the gift even "giftier" since it's so unique. Thanks - very pleased.

Sadly didn't turn out as nice as I had hoped. The picture is printed faintly and is hard to see well. Shipping and packaging was good.

About Brian Simons

Being a self-taught artist, I have derived much of my inspiration from the 'GROUP OF SEVEN', the French Impressionists and the Writings of Baha'u'lla'h (Baha'i Faith). My family and I moved to Vancouver Island from Alberta, where I first began to paint approx. 20 years ago. Prior to that, I focused mostly on drawing and sketching. I began showing my work in 1988 and have been represented by numerous galleries on the Island. From 1993-2000, I painted on a full-time basis and have had many successes and confirmations in that period, including numerous commissions for a television production company, commission work for architects, several corporate and private sales both in Canada and the United States.
