Great.
Heaven bend to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight
Truth be told I've tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear
Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...
We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
The past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
In the lonely light of morning
In the wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
That I've held so dear.
I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

Thank you so much Zeana...your comments are much appreciated. I think perhaps the greatest gift we are given as artists is an ability to see the beauty in anything and everything...even when that beauty is not always "pretty." Sometimes the beauty we are honored to communicate is a truth asking for revelation. I feel that it is a profound honor and joy, to be able to be such an Observer.
Zeana Romanovna
So much emotive beauty in the image and your prose - I often wonder why there is beauty in almost anything --- if we take the time to look, and you did, Rory. v/f

Powerful image Rory, & painful words to read, very painful... V&F.
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you dear Carla! Sometimes it is painful to let go of the past, of what does not work anymore, but it ultimately leads to our freedom and a greater future.
Sarah Loft

Rory, this is so sad and beautiful at the same time.. I like how you quoted Sarah Mclachlan.. I love your photos and her... You work is always inspiring! Favorited!
Rory Siegel replied:
Thank you so much Kym! I am a HUGE fan of Sarah McLachlan's music and this song in particular just moves me so! Yes, it's sad....which is often how we feel when letting go of the past, but the light streaming in and the lit open doorway remind us that there is another reality waiting for us when we are ready to leave the ruin and debris behind.
