I love this and it's situated behind me a little in my office. When I turn towards it, I'm reminded that there is always light and colour and to remember my roots. I have been wanting one of Cormac's pieces for a good while now and will buy an original maybe Christmastime. This is absolutely beautiful.

I'm so happy to have a piece of afrofuturistic art! I love my print and I hope to collect each of the prints from this collection!
Artist's Description
This painting was initially banned from an exhibit because it was thought (I assume by the title) to be sexual in nature. The name of the painting must have conjured up depraved images in the gallery manager's head. However, on review it was deemed to be suitably puritanical to be viewed by the public. It is more a wall sculpture than a painting. Two surfaces are an inch apart. A hole is cut in the top surface. A black mirror on the bottom surface can be seen through the hole. The mirror was created by pouring black enamel into a puddle on the surface below and letting it dry for several days. The round concave mirror above it acts as foil to the black hole. A photograph does not really do this painting/sculptor justice. When the painting has appeared in exhibits, the gallery owners are not quite sure how to cope with it - since most of my other paintings used to be landscapes. I spent many nights thinking about how I would do this painting. It was a breakthrough pain...
About Ian MacDonald

Ian Duncan MacDonald. "Artists are different. That creative void inside of them is filled by the gift of art. That persistent need to create. It keeps them striving. It's less about the destination than the path." For decades, I worked in oil, acrylic, ink and pastels. Now, I mostly create images in a digital medium. The speed and effects l can create by manipulating pixels on a computer screen, I find both exciting and very liberating. Interested in my background? Go to my webstite www.informus.ca. If you have any questions about my art, please contact me at imacd@informus.ca. I am always curious to learn why people have bought my images as I am incapable of choosing one over another. It is a bit like which of your children...
