Thank you for your comments on my work! I really appreciate it! I agree with you about my still lifes being more vibrant. Most of the time I have no one to sit for me when I paint so I have to use myself as a model. So I do "make up" the figure a little because I do not want all my figures looking like me. I'm constantly trying to get better though. Thanks again!

You really do these swans very well, I think: the details of furry feathers are so accurate! My favorites in your collection are 1st: THINGS THAT GO BUMP; Then: PLAYING WITH FEELING (which I like much better that the PIANIST that sold! That is odd for me because usually I prefer abstraction. But I think you do a much better job painting with others even though the angle is neat and I appreciate your playing with a freer brush or palette knife some.) You have a great idea with . SWANS (what fabulous composition! Did you take a photo and then paint from it?), and finally, high on the attention list, WAITING (Great that you let yourself go a little on the background!). If you look some at my work you will see that the last 6 years (of 10) I have worked mostly on non-representational paintings. For some people I've known, it seemed that just doing some experimentation and play with colors and forms helped them more feeling, etc., in their representational work. Finally, Maryn, in this unsolicited and probably not appreciated advice from me, I get the feeling from a lot of your "people" that you are painting more from your imagination than from actual life, models, etc. Notice how more vibrant your still lifes are than many of the figures! Anyway, keep at it, Maryn. Your work is interesting enough to me to WATCH you. Peace, etc., Bruce Combs

About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

About Maryn Crawford

Maryn Crawford

I'm recently graduated from Florida School of the Arts in Palatka Florida with a Fine Arts degree. I have always loved to draw since I could hold a pencil. When I turned 9, I began to draw portraits. I drew all the time! Until my senior year of high school, I was self taught. My senior year, I studied under Connie Shannon, an amazing artist. Then I got accepted at Florida School of the Arts where I studied under Charles Marsh, David Oulette, and Michael Burban. I began painting only after going to FloArts. I received the "Artist of the Year" award my last semester there. Now I am finding galleries, doing commissions, and teaching private lessons. I also will do commissions and portraits: peoples, homes, or pets. I would only need...
