Another stunning Don Dixon painting of the (nearly) unimaginably far away future of our planet Earth. Can we survive that far into the future - and in what shape and form ? I wonder . . . ! :-)

Superb work.

Beautiful image of Mr. Garcia... photo was tack sharp, colors were saturated, price was a little stiff, but I think it was worth it. This was framed and given to my best friend as a gift. He saw the Grateful Dead in concert over 20 times.

I love George Booth. He is one of the great cartoonists. Where is his work? I search the New Yorker and am unhappy not to find any. Please give us back George Booth. Louise Kurshan

I love these cards with the Clydesdales horses. I had a jumper and I miss riding but I now have bad knees.

I purchased this lovely card on 10/11. The site said it ships in 2-3 business days. It shipped on 10/17, and I received it on 10/22. I bought it for my bosses birthday which was 10/20. I never gave it to her, thanks a lot. Too bad, I know she would have loved it!

Artist's Description

Bilions of years hence, the sun will swell, warm, and boil away earth's oceans, transforming our once-verdant world into a desiccated wastleand. Whatever intelligent beings might exist then may gaze over the salt flats of extinct seas at a cosmic spectacle, the slow-motion collision between our Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy, which will trigger a wave of star formation. Interior painting for the April, 2013 issue of Astronomy Magazine.
