Item was lost in transit. Tough figuring out how to contact Fine Art. Finally received 6 weeks after placing order. Then received the original shipment.

I bought this tapestry for my mother who is in the final stages of lung caner. I wanted to brighten her room and bring her some cheer. I paid extra to have it shipped Next Day Air. We received the package 5 days after ordering. However, I was very diappointed at the taperstry when I opened it. It is very blurry and distorted. The fabric is OKAY somewhat thin, but not terrible. I have ordered many tapestries from another company recently as Christmas gifts for 1/2 the price that are way better quality and very clear and vibrant. I will not order again from Fine Art America....

Artist's Description

This is the farm on the north side of the 19th Sideroad of King Township. It is actually on the Caledon side of the town line on the northeast corner of the King-Caledon Town line and the 19th Sideroad of King. I had blocked off Monday morning to paint this scene. The forecast was for a mix of sun and cloud and the chance of a flurry. Well, it snowed pretty hard all of the time. Snowflakes mixed in with the paint and covered me with white. The paint froze and that combined with the wind made the plein air painting a bit of a challenge. I liked the way the paint was going on the canvas though so I persevered. I actually like the way it turned out. My favourite part of this painting is the few subtle strokes that make up the snow-covered car looking out of the carport. I was done by noon - both me and the painting! The canvas had been primed with a dark coat of raw sienna.

Trained at Queens University as a nuclear physicist, Phil the Forecaster has been a professional meteorologist since 1976. Painting has however been his passion forever. For ten years, he studied under the late Mario Airomi, a famous Italian artist. Phil paints what he knows best: weather, nature, canoes and his family. There are not enough hours in the day to record the inspiration that abounds. Phil paints mainly en plein air striving for impressionistic realism. Something intangible and sometimes magical enters the art when one is actually out in the elements surrounded by inspiration. Bold colours and shapes can be found in the natural world if you only look. Phils art hangs in many private and corporate collections around the...
