Gary, great work - with lots of feeling.

A distant friend had thought I smoked cigarettes and did not know why she made that assumption. She then realized she had viewed this picture a while back and the graffiti of the smoking cigarette on the wall she linked with me in this self portrait...sublime.

Thanks all for the comments. Colleen, yes its an old boot on the sill.

***well, that lightens the mood.... (correction... my fingers got away from me)

Peaceful. A reflective, poignant self-portrait. Is that a shoe on the windowsill left? What that lightens the mood a little... ;-) Lf

An outstanding image, Gary.

What a haunting piece of work. You have captured a great deal of emotion here. The man (yourself?) could be a drifter or perhaps just a passerby. I love the mood. The dark interior lighting and the lighter nature outside is a great metaphor. This is really phenomenal and a well thought out piece of art. f/v/FB

I absolutely love this...Really beautiful light and mood!!!

Beautiful shot, very sensitive, great feel of the light and composition!

Nicely done, Gary. You definitely got your thousand words worth with this one. f/v

Wonderful shot - it looks like a place where the walls talk to you and the nature lets you think. So much wonderful texture and story telling. Love it. v

Well done Gary. A wonderful moment captured. Moody, dramatic, intriguing. voted, favorite, promoted as daily favorite.
