The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

The anhinga is an extraordinarily adept fishing bird. One often sees these birds with wings outspread while they sit near the water because their feathers do not have the oil waterproofing that other fishing birds have and they must spread their wings to dry the feathers. Here, though, the beautiful female bird is at rest, calmly surveying the area from a comfortable perch. The scientific name is Anhinga anhinga for the subspecies found in more southern ranges, such as in South America, and Anhinga leucogaster for that found in more northern areas such as the southern United States.The anhinga is sometimes called the snake bird because of how the long neck appears, sticking out of the water as it swims. It is also called a darter because it hunts by spearing fish with its sharp bill.
