Hi Brian, thanks. Its all feeling, luck, guesswork, and chance. Just try something new- nothing is wrong...as long as it looks good/ if its too dark, or looks terrible- let it dry and paint over it. [ I have had many of those ]. It really gets bad when your working with words...and can't find the meanings that you are looking for. Since my heart opperation, I have had short term memory loss- and some long range loss too. It has something with the blood not getting to the brain well enough, so brain cells die. Well, you get new ones to wake up...this is the learning process for which I owe my artwork and writing, but everything is limited to something like a short vocabulary. The lost and missing words are no matter...because you can't remember what thy are...to forget. My writing is this way- only picking words I can remember to fit the subject matter....I think my painting is done this way too. I mix colors like they are going out of style....but it doesn't always work. Sometimes simple green works best. Ed

Ed I really like how you work many colors into this piece both the sky and the ocean. I hope to one day master beautiful skies like you have. brian

Thanks Edward. I paint on most anything I can get my hands on- including cardboard ..if its good quality. On the masonite, there are a couple of good points....its cheap...$7.00 per 4ft x 8ft panal...you can have the store cut it to lengths. The other great reason...its sturdy, holds well with time...thin enough to mount into a mat and glass frame. Texture- ...if you house paint the board as an undercoating [ make it smooth ], then it is more durable with colors, and drys very fast. only two drawbacks that I know of....its heavy...two or three together...and you have some real weight/ the other negative is that if you stack theese together...the weight will peel the paint off your face structure if your not careful..it helps to put a paper between works...I use clear plastic [ 10x100 ft......$37.00 at the hardware store ]

Hey Edward~ Thanks for the kind comments on my paintings. I really like this sailboat painting, it has wonderful energy. I like the contrast of the smooth brushed sky with the rough water.Do you prefer to paint on masonite for a reason?

Hi Julie, thanks. I like this painting also....one of my favorites....Ed

This is great Edward, love the colors, its brilliant!!

I love this print. I was drawn to it immediately. Right now it graces the top of my filing cabinet as there is no place to display it properly. Absolutely gorgeous.

This is to be a Christmas present for a friend who's name is April and was born in April. Just so happens she loves pink, too. Will be perfect for her.

Mountings were attached upside down. Disappointed in final product due to its cost and rushed work.

Northern California Artist Edward Lee Wolverton Sr. / Born October 08,1952 in Richmond California. I have been creating many forms of art here in the Silicon Valley for the past twenty-five years. I wanted to give you an overall view of my work here on Fine Art America. I have several Internet gallery locations on the www, but wish to confirm FAA as my base for the showing of much of my artwork for what I have in galleries. I grew up in many areas of California, Northern & Southern, but I graduated High School in 1971 in the central valley, at Hilmar High School, just between Modesto, and Merced..California, and this was to be in a small country farm setting, growing Alfalfa Fields, and swimming in the many canal banks close...
