Super high quality print, very happy with my purchase !!
Much of the grounds around Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory where high-energy physics is studied, is open to the public, and a nature-lover's happy place. Bird watchers wander through woods and prairies, large and small ponds can be found housing various water fowl and in one section you'll find a fenced in area with a small herd of buffalo. I spent some time in the woods one windy November day. The floor was covered with fallen leaves and the tall bare trees on this foggy late afternoon looked a bit foeboding. The processing here is an attempt to convey that mood.
Beauty is everywhere. Sometimes it hits you in the face; you can't miss it. Other times, you have to go looking for it. But always, no matter where you are, you can find something of beauty. I love the grand landscape, the engaging smile, the cute baby. But even more, I love to find the beauty in the ordinary; the mundane; the thing you just walked past without a glance. If I can make you reconsider; to think about the magnificence of the ordinary - that makes me happy.

Joni, I actually don't get a sense of foreboding .. I sense the end of a season .. & Peace; the subtle tones add a sense of Calm & Quiet .. it is hibernation & rejuvenation time .. I like the tones here that (to me) convey that :))
Joni Eskridge replied:
Thanks Connie. This was my first visit to this particular woods. I had been there for a couple of hours - hoping I might catch a napping owl or hawk - it was getting late for a fall afternoon turning to evening; the fog started rolling in and at that moment it did feel a bit spooky to me - but I also see your perspective and can take that same sense from the photo. I love walking through the crackling leaves on the forest floor and the desaturated tones do convey the end of season. Thanks for stopping by.
