This is in no way a judgement of the artist. This is about the quality of the print, which I am very displeased with. The colors are muddy and the darker tones are way too black and run together not providing separation of the gold and brown tones. The face of the horse from the eyes to the snout looks like shades of black, with almost no shades of brown. I bought the match to this print a few years back so, aside from how the image on the website, I know what this print should look like. Unless fineartamerica can provide me with a reprint, I am going to request my money back.

I was not happy with the quality of the print and missed the deadline to return it. Doubt I would buy again from Fine Art.

My favorite Fripp Island photo ever. I know exactly where this is on the island and it makes me smile every time I look at it.

Artist's Description

Realistic acrylic painting of the Ferrari 250 GTO, painted by the Dutch fine artist Paul Meijering - the Original painting is 120 x 90 cm and for sale The Ferrari 250 GTO is a homologated GT car which was produced by Ferrari from 1962 to 1964 for homologation into the FIA's Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. In May 2012 the 1962 250 GTO made for Stirling Moss became the world's most expensive car in history, selling in a private transaction for $38,115,000 to US communications magnate Craig McCaw. In October 2013, Connecticut-based collector Paul Pappalardo sold chassis number 5111GT to an unnamed buyer for a new record of around $38 million. The numerical part of its name denotes the displacement in cubic centimeters of each cylinder of the engine, whilst GTO stands for "Gran Turismo Omologato", Italian for "Grand Touring Homologated." When new, the GTO cost $18,000 in the United States, and buyers had to be personally approved by Enzo Ferrari and his dealer for North America, Luigi...

About Paul Meijering

Paul Meijering

For almost 33 years now, Paul Meijering has been active with the paint brushes. As a 17- year old inspired youngster he joined the Academy of Arts in Enschede (Holland) in order to receive a native training in drawing- and painting technique. At that time (1980) the tendency of the abstract was running riot, and to his dismay and disappointment Paul found that the trade of the ancient masters was merely 'old hat', the realistic art being disregarded and looked down upon. After two years of useless botchery, there was only one conclusion to draw: "get autodidact, be a self-taught person!" Paul then left the academy to work for a living, but at the back of his mind there always loomed the passion of his life: to paint. At his spare time...
