Description
THIS PAINTING IN ACRYLICS ON A3 HEAVYWEIGHT WATERCOLOUR PAPER IS FOR SALE. E-MAIL mike@transportartist.co.ukOutside my studio window the other day I heard the unmistakable sound of the single cylinder engine of a Field Marshall tractor as it chugged by. The subtle aroma of TPO hung in the air as the beat of the engine grew fainter and I was transported back to a time of simple pleasures and human scale, a time when the world was still young and full of hope.
The tractor in question belongs to one of my neighbours, a chap in his eighties (who looks at most about sixty) who still works his farm and is so friendly and open to such a newcomer to the area as myself that reminds me of an age now gone.He has a dignity, self effacing sense of humour and down to earth honesty that sums up all that I love and admire about England and the English character. Seemingly untouched by the dismal reality that my dear country has been reduced to a mere shadow of its true place in the civilised world by the imposition of modern "values" and the glorification of alien cultures he carries on with what is in the long run the most important calling of all by producing food from the rich soil of this region.
This is an image of a series of tractors I painted some years ago for Tractor magazine which was edited by the very knowledgeable Peter Love who was most helpful to me in my career.
This is an example of what I call a portrait which is an affordable way you can own an original work of your favourite vehicle.

Thank you for your encouragement Mike! I'm going to take a painting class sometime in the future, though I'm deuteranomalous so colors look a bit different to me.

Thank you Gregory, I like your bio and honest approach, keep drawing and take up a paintbrush soon, you'll find that the rewards in terms of enjoyment and sheer satisfaction far outweigh the time and effort of study and experiment.
