Very nice little towel, fits perfectly in our Japanese theme bathroom.

Extremely poor quality, complete rip off as picture disappeared after the first wash. The wash was a cool programme for delicates and the towel was washed on its own. I won't ever order from them again

The towels are beautiful! Thank you

Artist's Description

The month following the December 7th, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Farm Security Administration photographer Arthur Rothstein took this night picture of Dallas, Texas' theater district on Elm Street on the edge of downtown. Decades later a few of these buildings are still standing, namely the 1921 built Majestic Theater and the adjacent 1888 Hart Furniture Building. The Titche-Goettinger store on the left still exists, as do a handful of others on either side of the street. Bob Hope, Houdini and Mae West all played there. Houdini (1874-1926) appeared in five silent films from 1919-1923, two as a director. This clip shows his escape from ropes in 16 seconds. www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbvZZsYZmEY With the advent of the talking picture the Majestic hosted movie premieres and big bands i...

About David Lee Guss

David Lee Guss

I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. In 1979 I earned a MA in drama from the University of Arizona; earlier getting a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, where I co-founded the first film society on campus and ran it for four years. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
