Super happy how print came out, but looks a little less vibrant even after just a cool water quick wash. Still nice looking, but would have preferred the vibrancy to have remained.

Artist's Description

The Cine Plaza Theater in 1936, on Tucson, Arizona's West Congress, is painted in blue. Artist Ted DeGrazia was the manager of the Plaza in the 1930's. In a film I did of the theater's closing in 1969 Ted is quoted, in the audio interview, as saying the theater stunk but he loved it.

About David Lee Guss

David Lee Guss

I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
