The gravestones and Confederate flags mark the final resting place of the crew of the H.L. Hunley submarine at Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, SC.
The crew was composed of Lieutenant George E. Dixon (Commander), Frank Collins, Joseph F. Ridgaway, James A. Wicks, Arnold Becker, Corporal C. F. Carlsen, C. Lumpkin, and Augustus Miller.
The crew was interred on April 17, 2004 with 10's of thousands of people attending.
The flags that are flying are the "Stainless Banner" which was the second national flag of the Confederate States of America. This was also the flag used as the Confederate navy's ensign.
