FIRA IN SANTORINI is a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
Fira, or Thira, is one of the major towns on the Greek island of Santorina.
Because of its elevated position, it offers spectacular views of the caldera, and the Aegean Sea.
Fira is a port city. Visitors debarking their cruise ships can reach the town by cable car, or by climbing over 600 steps, or by riding donkeys up those steps.
Fira has whitewashed buildings, blue domed churches, cobblestone walkways, and lots of charming patios and terraces from which to enjoy beautiful views, and Santorini's spectacular sunsets!
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
