Description
Fire Smaug.
This closes the circle. This is not a CG dragon, it was basically handmade. I made this charismatic dragon in paper mache at the end of the 20th century. Some wire for the bones, some toothpicks for claws and horns, yellow headed pins for the eyes. Then I painted it in red and ocher hues with paint i mixed with sand to make it rough. The base was made out of an industrial insulation cork board that y shredded with a saw and then dry-brushed. I placed it in my living room for years and now Smaug rests on a shelf, in my kids' bedroom. I have to fix or replace the horns every year and the color has lost some of its intensity. I had shot some pictures before, but I was not quite satisfied. This time I am. I finished. Full circle.
Take nothing for granted.
