Artist's Description
One of my earlier paintings but all-time favourites, and there is a story behind it: I adopted two dwarf hamsters from an animal rescue, and the smaller white one was blind, and followed the other one around faithfully. Though not born from the same family, the two creatures were inseparable, and inspired this painting. Watercolours on canvas paper, 8 � 5 inches.
About Janet Chui
Janet Chui is a freelance fantasy artist and illustrator living in Singapore. Editor and illustrator of the mysterious A Field Guide to Surreal Botany, she was a 2009 finalist for the World Fantasy Award for Best Artist. She paints with watercolours and in digital media, and has been drawing fairies, unicorns and dragons since childhood. She specializes in fantastical subjects, children's illustration, and live portraits.
