Roy Hyslop was born in Scotland where he went to university in Glasgow, graduating with a degree in architecture. Most of his professional life was spent in London where he specialised in hospital and other healthcare buildings. Following his retirement he took–up watercolours and spent many years painting, mainly landscapes; on going to New York in 2013 he decided the only medium to paint with in NYC was oils.
