One morning as I did my walk along the ocean, a flower vendor had set up her buckets of flowers and was helping a woman select the perfect bouquet. I wanted to capture this scene with the detail of the flowers and the two women, but I also wanted the painting to give an "impressionistic" French feeling to this wonderful bit of whimsey, including the sea gull that just had to fly overhead to catch the scene from above.
