Jimi Hendrix Tribute
This piece was meant to depict a selfless little angel kneeling in admiration and adoration to the legendary guitarist in an act of unconditional love. This is my interpretation of the lyrics below. However, I am aware that he nicknamed himself little wing but, never the less, here is my depiction.
LITTLE WING
"Well, she's walking through the clouds,
With a circus mind that's running wild,
Butterflies and Zebras.
And Moon beams and Fairy tales
That's all she ever thinks about.
Riding the wild.
When I'm sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles
She gives to me for free.

I have a Jimi Hendrix pumper sticker on my car. It reads, "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." So true. Too many of us seek power and control and possessiveness because we live in fear. I'm convinced the opposite of love is NOT hatred. It's fear; and it's apathy. Personal experiences have taught me that we can truly love beyond measure when we liberate ourselves from the self-made prison of fear, when we let go of superficial attachments and false beliefs.In his landmark book, THE RAOD LESS TRAVELED, Dr. M. Scott Peck expatiates on that far more eloquently than I can.

I am familiar with that quote. Love it! I agree 200% that fear is the opposite of love that has been somewhat of a theme of mine in my art. Enhale love--exhale fear! There is nothing to worry about ☺Thank you, again.

Wayne, I see him sad and his mind on other things as she adores him. It was inspired by his song. I have little control where my drawings end up compare to how I originally conjure it up in my mind's eye. Yes, I do see the pain. It is undeniable. Hope your having a great day, Wayne. :-)
