Love this! Congratulations on your sale!

Wonderful, Charles, my dad built his own plane, flew all his life. Taught pilots how to fly in WWII in the Sturmans. Well done.

Nice Work! Great Subject!, Congrats!

Nice!!

great work - congrats!

Fantastic piece, congratulations on your sale.

Charles, you have gained another fan with me. I do similar paintings but have sold everything I have done. I am working on more and will post them later on my FAA site. We paint very close in style and realism. I checked out all your images and hope to be back for some prints later. Wish you many sales. You are a really gifted aviation artist. I love your stearman here. You get it all 'right'.

Love it! I grew up on the back of my Dad’s Harley, so this means a lot.

Looks great! Thanks

This was a gift for someone who loved this painting. She and I both thought it was a little dark. The details were not clear. Although it is an early morning, dawn painting, a little lighter would have been nicer. The framing and matting was well received by the recipient. I haven't actually seen the picture yet.

This was a gift so I have not seen the piece in person but was advised it is very nice. I will say I would have preferred glass rather than plexi but that was not an option.

The colour inside my framed purchase is more pale than here on the illustrated sample, hence the white doesn't contrast very well against the actual print. (not as well as this one featured). This is something that can only be learned with experience. Otherwise I'm glad I made the purchase.

Super High quality print. Looks fabulous on my wall! Color saturation just right. Plexiglass and plastic frame pretty good quality. Turnaround time was very fast, within a week after placing the order. Great for personalized gifts.

Artist's Description

U.S. Navy aviation cadets at the Ottumwa Naval Air Station prepare for a morning training flight in Ottumwa, Iowa during World War II.

About Charles Taylor

My goals as an artist are to produce illustrations and fine art images with military and aviation subject matter. Because of my interest in WWII history and aviation, my compositions are influenced largely by events of that era. The medium that I work in is acrylic on illustration board; while I have used watercolor, chalk and graphite in the past. I have experience with drafting and have a strong attention to fine detail. For years I have been involved with the various veterans and aviation organizations; working air shows and reunions since a very young age. I do extensive research through books, past discussions with veterans, documentaries, and building of the appropriate modeling kits. I use photo references taken over the years...
