Well, thank you again, Ricardo. This shot has always been one of my favorites. I got it back in the mid '70s, I think, when I worked for the San Diego Union. It was a promo for an upcoming air show at Gillespie Field in El Cajon. One of the best jobs I ever had... They had two planes, this Fokker and a yellow Stearman. The pilots pretended to do aerial battle while I rode in one to shoot the other and then switched, so that I had shots of both in the air. When we were done I asked the Fokker pilot if he had time for one more. I did not want to be in the shot (sitting in the rear seat), so I taped a Nikon to a strut and ran the wire (no remotes back then) under the plane and into the cockpit. The firing mech was a button attached to a 35mm film can. Told him to fly to La Jolla, dip his wings and when he saw LJ between them, shoot. Which is what he did...cool eh? best joe      AND I have not added any shots to the fine art site, but I did enter a contest. You can check out some of my best at http://MacHolly.see.me/onelife2011      take care

If I didn't know any better I'd say this was the replica DR1 that sat in front of an aviation themed restaurant at Montgomery field.I think it was called the Aerodrome .They played WW1 music and you had a view of the field.
