I ordered three artworks by the same artist and had them framed and matted exactly the same β white outer mat and 1/4-inch inner black mat. The white mats were (barely) acceptably cut but the black mats were all ragged. Of 12 possible cuts β 3 mats x 4 corners β 12 cuts were poor quality. It looks like a dull knife to me and a "that's good enough" attitude by the employee. Also, one of the frame corners is sloppy. See both photos.
