Original still life oil painting. This original painting captures the beauty of yellow through a gathering of forsythia blooms and sunny yellow lemons. What inspired this painting is my love of forsythia. After clipping these branches from the tree in my backyard I felt like they might make an interesting painting. I placed them in the white pitcher, feeling their carefree essence as they curved out of the vessel. Upon committing to the idea of creating a still life with them, I added the lemons which ended up being so fitting to the overall composition.
In approaching this painting I kept the focus on the variety of shapes and colors of the components as well as the background area incorporating a little bit of patterning through fabric in the foreground.
This original painting has a lot of rich, vibrant color along with visible brushwork that adds to the texture of the work. The artwork was done on a 14" x 11" Ampersand (TM) panel. It is signed and ready for framing.
