Our throw pillows are made from 100% spun polyester poplin fabric and add a stylish statement to any room. Pillows are available in sizes from 14" x 14" up to 26" x 26". Each pillow is printed on both sides (same image) and includes a concealed zipper and removable insert (if selected) for easy cleaning.

3 stars the cover, 1 Star for the rubbery filling which I threw away, no stars for the packaging, so horrible that it puts a real damper on the purchase

Artist's Description

Fort Pike near Slidell, La., was built between 1819 and 1826 in response to the War of 1812 by the order of President James Monroe to protect one of the main approaches to New Orleans. The fort overlooks Rigolets Pass, which provides access to Lake Pontchartrain.The fort was named for explorer and soldier General Zebulon Montgomery Pike, after whom Pike’s Peak in the Rocky Mountains was named.The fort was the first of the so-called Third System fortifications, a group of brick and masonry structures built between 1816 and 1867. It was designed to withstand attack from land and sea.The fort original was armed with 32- and 24-pounder cannons, although how many is unknown. The wartime garrison was about 400 men, although in peacetime it was manned by no more than 80 soldiers.During the Seminole Wars in the 1830s, Fort Pike was a staging area for troops being sent to Florida, and it was a collection area for Indian prisoners and their black slaves being moved to Oklahoma.
