Wow this is such a great photo. If you’re worried that it is too dark- don’t be worried. The colors in the photo are incredible and only enhanced by the twilight. The composition of the photo is flawless while also showing a vignette of Lake Coeurd’Alene that does not include large swaths of blue water. Bravo!

Love the colors in this photo , the contrast of whites & grays punctuated by brilliant warm fall hues is further enhanced by the misty & mysterious feel of the overall painting. So realistic it takes a moment at first to determine if this is a photo or work of art.

It was exactly what I expected & hopefully my soon to be grand niece will enjoy it. My niece loves it, already. I used to get the actual paper share, but it was always too small hung on the wall., This piece is an obvious upgrade to the actual paper share (which is only replica now anyway) Thank you again. Artist's Description

Fossil crinoids (Traumatocrinus kweichouwensis). Rock containing crinoid, or sea lily, fossils. This fossil dates from the middle Triassic period (between 245 and 228 million years ago). Crinoids are marine echinoderms that have been in existence for 500 million years. Thousands of extinct crinoid species have been found as fossils, but only a few hundred species still exist today. They attach themselves to the sea floor with their stem and use their feathery arms to filter food from the water. This fossil was found in China.

About Pascal Goetgheluck/science Photo Library

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
