I had been photographing this mountain range most of the evening, but there were clouds in the western sky so the mountains were dull and lifeless. About 5 minutes after sunset I was getting ready to pack up after what I thought was going to be a failed photographic journey, when the sun came through the clouds and the peaks just lit up. The color only lasted a few minutes, but fortunately I had waited and was able to capture this image.
