Description
Original Fine Art Photography by Donna Kennedy..
A very heavy blanket of freezing fog covers the biggest little city on a very cold January morning around sunrise in Reno, NV. These are the actual colors, minimal editing…
Freezing fog can pose just as many hazards as snow and ice during the winter months, but what exactly is this weather phenomenon?
In its simplest sense, fog is a cloud near the ground that consists of tiny liquid water droplets. At temperatures typically below –10 °C, fog composed of ice crystals may form, usually from freezing of droplets. Like diamond dust, this gives rise to optical phenomena. Freezing-fog warnings are common in Reno and Truckee, CA. During the winter months.
