I have a fondness for anything vintage, and these letters are 100 years old, so it goes without saying that I love them. I like the beautiful handwriting, the French language I can't understand and the lovely postage stamps.
When I met my husband more than 20 years ago he was an architectural photographer and he taught me to see how the camera sees. He also photographed plants and his close up flowers showing all the bright colour and detail just blew me away. It took me some time before I was happy with my own images but now macro photography is something I especially love to do. My photographic journey has led me to try many styles and techniques but underlying every photo is my love of colour. Mostly toning shades but also strong contrasts. This image was captured on a flat bed scanner, then taken into Lightroom and the tones and highlights adjusted. Hope that's not a disappointment! Yes, I love the handwriting too :-)
