This painting features the nine "Fruits of the Spirit": Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Goodness and Self Control on the front of an apron. Why an apron? Because it is a symbol of service, often done by the women of a family in teaching their children and grandchildren. It is about unwavering service in the emotional education of our children that leads to the harvesting of these fruits. Never underestimate the power of that apron!
Painfully shy as a child, Jen was unable to communicate with anyone outside her family except through drawing. Visual language was her first language and she never lost her passion for its ability to communicate for her. There was never a day she "decided" to become an artist. For Jen, there was just no other way to be. Jen Norton is a graduate of Santa Clara University where she earned a Bachelors degree in Fine Art, with a Minor in Business. Jen worked as a Graphic Designer in the Silicon Valley where developing marketing communications materials helped push her from purely personal expression to full conversation.
