The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
Fuel cell being removed from Space Shuttle Endeavour's payload bay in preparation for the shuttle's public display. This is one of three fuel cells that provided electrical power for the shuttle. Hydrogen and oxygen reacted within the cell to create electrical power, water and heat. The excess heat was fed into heat exchangers and the water was fed into the potable water storage system. Photographed at in the Orbiter Processing Facility-2, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA, on 29th May 2012.
