The funeral procession of Ani in two sections. The mummy of Ani is laid on a boat-shaped hearse drawn by four oxen and preceded by a priest in a leopard skin vestment. Alongside is his grieving wife Tutu, behind are the mourners followed by servants bearing articles for the tomb which include his palette. The lower section continues the procession with ministrants on the left carrying sepulchral furniture. Ahead of them is a band of female mourners. On the far right, the tomb, in front of which Anubis supports the mummy, the mourning wife Tutu kneeling before it. A priest reads the funeral service from a papyrus whilst another presents an offering. The rising Sun and Heaven are symbolised by the calf and the cow.
