Aftermath of the "Hurricane of 1900," which made landfall in Galveston, Texas on September 8, 1900. It had estimated winds of 135 miles per hour, making it a Category 4 storm. About 8,000 people died, making the hurricane the deadliest natural disaster ever for the United States.
