Description
Near Schulte Creek just off of Highway 50 in Gasconade County, Missouri, I found this unique double quilt barn. This is the thirteenth quilt barn in my collection, and the first one that I've found with two built blocks. The bottom pattern is called "Dutchman's Puzzle," which is fitting because Gasconade County, Missouri was settled by German immigrants. The top pattern I have been unable to identify, and wonder if it is an original pattern, combining a traditional quilting star, the layout of the American flag and a heart.
