Beautiful print! The only thing I don’t love is the imprint from the wood at the back of the canvas. Maybe different packaging would help?

Artist's Description
As you enter Zion National Park from the south entrance you pass The Watchman. You then come to the old visitor center that has phenomenal views in every direction. To the west is my painting of the Towers of the Virgin. To the north-east is what we see in this painting. A group of towering multi-hued sandstone cliffs. Nearest we see Mount Spry's brown and rust crags. Just behind it we see just a hint of The Twin Brothers whose upper most peaks are white sandstone. Just left of center is The Mountain of The Sun.
I decided to make dramatic changes in my sunny afternoon reference photo by featuring a Spring snow storm approaching from the north. The storm occurred on Friday of April 28, 2017. I love the diagonal lines in the layers of stone formations and decided to have my clouds follow the same line. We were in Bryce Canyon at the time as the storm snow flurries traveled south to here and all the way to Lake Powell. To be in Zion on a day like this with fast moving cloud shadows da...
About Jerry Bokowski
I have been in awe of the deserts, mountains, and canyons of the great southwest for over 50 years. Atmospheric events like sunrise and sunsets, approaching storms and monsoon rains, fog and mist, snow, or moonlit nights, just add to the beauty of Arizona and Utah landscapes. This is what inspires a passion within me to capture the mood, drama, and majesty of being there....from being at the foot of a majestic crag or on top of a summit overlooking a distant valley below. I paint real places that one can visit and see. Whether it be Finger Rock of the Catalina Mountains,The Sentinel in Zion National Park, or Mather Point at the Grand Canyon, it is my goal and desire to have my paintings draw a viewer to them and that they become...

CONGRATULATIONS JERRY...JULY 2020 FAA TONY AWARD WINNER!! This is one of my favorites of your Desert beauties! It boasts BEAUTY in GRAND SCALE! Underpinning all of your work is a CONSISTENT emotive respect for the deep contrasts of Light and Shadow as well as earthen colours set against emboldened, dramatic skies!! Enjoy this award...so well deserved! LF

You stood here looking at the Towers of the Virgin to the west and then looking northeast to see this view, Eva. Thank you for the inspiration to paint this scene the next day as the spring snow storm visited here while we were near cascade falls and on to Bryce!

I think Zion was in the news yesterday with hikers caught in a flood! Beautiful and FAV.
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Yup, near the gateway to the narrows. Not a good place to be during our summer monsoon season, Reynold. This area is about 6 miles downstream from there. Thanks a lot for your visit!
Pavitha Ashwin
Beautiful painting Jerry... your love affair with Zion is quite evident in your paintings.. l love the way the snow capped mountain is portrayed with the dark clouds as backdrop. L/F
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thank you for your nice comment, Pavitha. The white you see in this is actually white sandstone that makes up the top of Zion's cliffs. The layers go from dark brown at the bottom layers, to rusty burnt siennas, to light orange/corals, to white on top! Part of why these 3,000 feet tall cliffs are so unique.
Rachel Morrison
Love the curtain of rain as a backdrop to the beautifully lit mountains. What a lift with mood!
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Thank you for your thoughts, Rachel. My goal was to have this look like you are looking at the real thing through a window from 9 feet away!
