Congrats Nadine & Bob this photo has been selected on the feature page of Photography of Statues, This photo has received my V/F and a very important capture for all to view. The contrast of the aged bronze and greenery behind the statue are complimentary. Nice composition, and lightning. This has my V/F and Feature. When Irish Eyes Are Smiling, Michael Hoard

Nadine & Bob, your Gettysburg Gallery is a fine tribute to those who lost their lives on this battlefield. Voted for all 22 images in the Gallery, and posted the link in the USA Artist News voting thread. Cheri

Great rendition! GEN Sedwick was my 1st cousin, and I even live in a county named for him in Kansas (Wichita), in Sedgwick County.

Seems there are no coincidences.... :)

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Perfect gift for my college niece!!! They love to have their towels for spring break! Highly recommend. I recently bought round beach towels at a major retailer. The quality from fineartamerica far surpasses it! The artwork on the towel is vibrant and attractive. Love it!

Artist's Description

Please Vote: We appreciate each one... ..... Brigadier General John Sedgwick (September 13, 1813 May 9, 1864) was a teacher, a career military officer, and a Union Army general in the American Civil War. He was the highest ranking Union casualty in the Civil War, killed by a sniper at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House. ........... At the start of the Civil War, Sedgwick served as a colonel and Assistant Inspector General of the Military Department of Washington. He missed the early action of the war at the First Battle of Bull Run, recovering from cholera. Promoted to brigadier general on August 31, 1861, he commanded the 2nd brigade of Maj. Gen. Samuel P. Heintzelman's division in the Army of the Potomac, then his own division, which was designated the 2nd division of the II Corps for the Peninsula Campaign. In Virginia, he fought at Yorktown and Seven Pines and was wounded in the arm and leg at the Battle of Glendale. He was promoted to major general on July 4, 1862. .............
