Description
I sometimes wonder if artists and photographers see the world differently to everybody else. Not only do they have the ability to take a scene and present it to the viewer from the best possible angle and creating maximum interest, but they see things that others pass by. I first became aware of this ability when I bought a book of photography by Linda McCartney. She created some wonderful images from everyday items, places and people. She was a great inspiration. The digital age has meant that one no longer needs to worry about film or processing costs, encouraging much more experimental photography. The luxury of being able to take 10 or more photographs to get just one good one, is available to everybody now, not just proffessional photographers. This image is one that caught my eye and I just couldn't resist capturing it.
If art is "whatever you can get away with", then the title of this tongue in cheek photo is perfect. This was a spur of the moment photograph of sunlight shining through an empty raspberry jam jar. Make what you want of it. I can imagine it to be a huge wave, crashing down on a sunset beach.
