In front of South Sawyer Glacier, so many shades of blue. One of the most amazing places I have ever seen.
This image means a lot.....memories of a perfect day while In Alaska in 2013.
I had always wanted to visit Alaska. As a geography teacher I am drawn to unspoilt, wilderness locations. Somewhere where the scale of the landscape makes any problems insignificant.
Several hours from Juneau, spotting whales and bears along the way and travelling through the stunning Tracy Arm Fjord you arrive at South Sawyer Glacier. No sounds except the creaking and groaning of the ice and the CRASH as pieces calve into the water. We could have stayed here for hours.
