Yes! For me it is the song of the Red-winged Blackbird. :-)

Very nice! I, too, am waiting for their return.

There are these iconic signs that cold weather is truly gone:>) A certain wildflower, bird, or bug - whatever, it sets a smile on our faces, doesn't it:>)

Cannot wait until I start to see them around here again!! Great capture!!

Mother Nature replied:

I know! Aren't they beautiful to watch:>) Thanks for the nice comment, Karol.

Again, the artist, John Boyd, takes fabulous pictures and paints awesome items, but this towel does not look like this picture. It is basically all one color and you can’t discern what it’s supposed to be.

For a bird loving friend it’s perfect.Made her smile

It didn't turn out as good as I expected, although it is still very nice. I suspect it's because it is so much larger than the original painting. The colors are not nearly as bright as the painting, that is they look faded.

I would like a refund. It’s not the color as shown I wanted Dk brown as described in the picture shown.

Artist's Description

This pretty little insect looks very much like a dragonfly but is smaller, more delicate, and there are some differences. They come in all colors of the rainbow - lovely creatures - and are quite variable by color, so I have the very devil of a time trying to ID them. We'll call this one a Golden Damselfly for lack of a good identification. The females lay their eggs in water or in aquatic plants. When the larvae hatch they live on the bottom of ponds, streams, and such and eat mosquito larvae and other small things. When they go through the final shed and emerge as adults, they feed on flies, mosquitoes, and such, and we should be happy to see them in our yard! They do not chase people and don't bite unless handled roughly; even then the bite wouldn't do much harm. This dragonfly was found in Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA, in late August. 2011. You can read more about them at:

About Mother Nature

I invite you to visit my blog - Nature's Wonders - which is all about the natural world in my neighborhood. I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever...
