There are many viewpoints from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on the Arizona side or south rim this one from Hermit View is one of my favorites.... If disabled you can get a pass to use your own car along Hermit Road, otherwise, you have to use the Bus service, but it is frequent. You can get off the Bus at one viewpoint, stay as long as you wish, and another will be along soon.

ITS a combination of both. Mother nature created the shadows, then have manipulated them. Lightened some to show more detail, added to others so they did not appear washed out. Studied in seminars with Ansel Adams who said, "85% of my images are created AFTER the Shutter is pressed." It used to be most were completed in the darkroom, now in Lightroom, the modern darkroom. Where we can do the same things but in much less time. Without all the mess, etching, dyes, hot and cold chemicals, holding back light or adding more to areas, etc...
