About Richard Buchanan
Growing up as a child I was always crafting various projects, drawing and coloring abstract designs. Art class in school was my favorite class and I did well winning various contests and earning recognition. As I entered high school I somewhat fell away from my artistic side and focused on other parts of my life. It wasn't until I was 24 and moved to Boston in 2003 that I started painting. One of my neighbors in my building was an artist and she inspired me to start painting. She took me to the art store, helped me pick out my first paints, brushes and canvas and gave me some initial direction. From that point on I painted off and on for a few years, but didn't really know where I wanted to go with what I was doing. In 2008 I moved...
